Popsburgh is a small business that brings Mexican-style, handcrafted, ice pops to the people of Pittsburgh. Established in 2014, Popsburgh makes all-natural, hand-crafted, delicious frozen treats for people and dogs of all ages. The business’ goal is to craft wholesome food products using only natural ingredients and strive to make refreshing, delicious, and nutritious snacks. Popsburgh can be found all over Pittsburgh! Pops are for sale in open-air public venues around the city via custom bicycle carts as well as being featured in some local retailers.
Craig McCloud is the owner of Popsburgh and loves owning his small business. Craig finds it incredibly fulfilling to be able to use his creativity to create products that people enjoy. The Kiva Pittsburgh community was integral in producing the funds necessary to launch his venture. It was incredibly encouraging for Craig to get funding support from all over the world!
Kiva’s worldwide network enabled me to crowd-source funds from 4 continents, and the interest-free loan was the perfect solution for seed money when launching Popsburgh.

With the help of a Kiva loan, Popsburgh has been able to consistently grow from year to year. This year they have been able to invest in equipment which will streamline their production process, and drastically increase the volume of pops we are able to make. With this improvement Popsburgh aims to at least double the list of wholesale customers, with a focus on bolstering brand identity and awareness in the community.
